------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The waterfalls we will visit this year on March 20, 20210 are Roaring River Falls, Waterloo Falls and Cummins Falls. Cummins Falls is up for sale and this well could be our last opportunity to visit that beautiful natural spot. It's really too bad the state doesn't have the means to preserve that for the public. An effort has been initiated by the Tennessee Parks and Greenways Foundation to obtain it, but again, money is the major issue. We will be leaving the park at 9:30 am on March 20, 2010. We'll have lunch at the Golden Corral in Cookeville and plan to be back to the park by approximately 3:00 pm. There are a few seats left. If you want to go...you need to get your reservations in NOW! The cost is $10.00 per person. You will be responsible for the price of your lunch or you may bring your own lunch if you like. NOTE: The tour is completely sold out as of today...March 2, 2010...Be sure and get your reservations in early for next year! We'll let you know when... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each March before the leaves are fully out, we sponsor a tour of some of the beautiful waterfalls in Middle Tennessee. There are a number of them and we try to visit different places every year. Some of the falls we have visited in the past include Fall Creek Falls, Caney Creek Falls, Piney Falls, Burgess Falls, Cummins Falls, Ozone Falls, Upper and Lower Piney Falls, Great Falls, and Twin Falls. We travel in state vans and charge $10.00 to cover our expenses and raise money for Park projects. |
